Association of Nurse Executives (India) has partnered with the NGO My Daughter is Precious (MDIP) to provide mentorship to 7 nursing students supported with tuition fees by MDIP. Climate Change
Nurses at Climate Challenge – An Initiative of the Association of Nurse Executives of India (ANEI)
Healthcare contributes approximately 5% of greenhouse gas emissions worldwide, and hospitals and pharmaceutical companies are the most significant contributors. As healthcare providers, we witness the harmful effects that climate change can have on our population, from Exacerbated Lung conditions to storms and floods causing displacement, death, and threat to our food and water sources. Climate change has been termed a complex public health issue affecting all areas of nursing practice. Nurses play a pivotal role in the prevention of environmental-related risks and illnesses. ANEI is a staunch believer in the role of a nurse in influencing decisions made within Healthcare Organizations and advocating for changes that will help protect the environment. Hence, ANEI, in collaboration with Global Green and Healthy Hospitals (GGHH) and their Indian partner Health Care Without Harm (HCWH), engaged in training and motivating the Nurses in a variety of environmentally sound practices in their personal and professional lives.
