Empower Hour 2025 AYNA (ANEI YOUNG NURSES ALLIANCE)
Message from the President
Dear ANEI Members,
As we step into the year 2025, I feel a deep sense of pride and responsibility in continuing to lead the Association of Nurse Executives India (ANEI) as your National President. It has been an incredible journey since our inception in 2017, and as we approach our eighth year, I am both humbled by our progress and inspired by what lies ahead.
We owe a great deal of gratitude to our Founder President, Ms. Thankam Gomez, for laying a strong foundation and instilling in us the vision of advancing nursing leadership in India. I also extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Girdhar Gyani and the Association of Healthcare Providers (India) for their timely guidance and support during our formative years. Our founder officials, including Ms. Thankam, Dr. Jothi Clara, Ms. Subhada, and myself, along with our dedicated Executive Council members, have worked relentlessly to make ANEI a national force for nursing empowerment.
Reflecting on the year 2024, ANEI has continued to make significant strides in fostering leadership, patient safety, and professional development for nurses. We successfully conducted several impactful events, including:
• ANEICON 2024: Held in Chennai, this event brought together over 500 healthcare leaders to discuss the evolving role of nurses in digital health and patient safety.
• Empower Hour Series: Our monthly virtual sessions continued to engage and inspire members with thought-provoking discussions on leadership, innovation, and best practices in nursing.
• ANEI Patient Safety Fellowship: Our fellows made significant contributions by simplifying the WHO Patient Safety Curriculum for Indian nurses, incorporating local case studies and challenges. Additionally, they launched the SAFE Initiative (Safety Awareness For Excellence) to promote practical, actionable steps that nurses can take to improve patient safety across healthcare settings.
• ANEI Alliance with Nursing Students and Early Career Nurses: This initiative has seen remarkable success in connecting experienced nurse leaders with the next generation, shaping the future of the profession.
Looking ahead, we are excited to announce our upcoming flagship event, ANEICON 2025, to be held at the Grand Hyatt, Kochi, Kerala, on May 30-31, 2025, with the theme:
"Transformational Leadership: Harnessing Collaboration for a Healthier India"
This year's conference will feature a multidisciplinary lineup of speakers, including top nurse leaders from across the country, and we are expecting more than 600 participants. The event will provide ample opportunities for networking, collaboration, and learning.
As we prepare for ANEICON 2025, our focus remains on empowering nurses to lead change, drive sustainability, and advocate for better healthcare outcomes. Our continued initiatives, such as the Empower Hour, Patient Safety Day Programs, Skill Development Workshops, and the SAFE sessions by our ANEI Patient Safety Fellows, will ensure ongoing engagement and growth within our community.
On behalf of the entire ANEI team, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all our members for your unwavering support and contributions. You are the strength behind this association, and your commitment to advancing nursing leadership inspires us to do more. I also take this opportunity to thank our current office bearers, Dr Unmona, Dr Vincy, and Dr Ajee, for their dedication and support.
Please mark your calendars and make plans to join us at ANEICON 2025 in Kochi for an event that promises to be insightful, inspiring, and impactful.
I’m sure all of you will agree that members are our greatest strength, hence I request each one of you ANEI members to strive towards making more members. Its our collective guarantee that none will repent joining us; rather will rejoice the new found camaraderie, learning and networking opportunities. Together, let us continue our journey of transforming nursing leadership in India and beyond.
Looking forward to seeing you all in Kochi for ANEICON 2025!
Association of Nurse Executives (India) derives its strength from its chapters and its members. ANEI through its chapter heads strives to make the collective voice of nurses stronger by increasing the members.
